Job Opportunities - Long-Term Positions Available

 

Part Time Administrative Assistant to President and Founder


Duties include:
• Manage bookings for all travel (flights, hotels, car rentals) for President and Founder


o Create itineraries for all business trips and manage records of travel confirmations, frequent flyer numbers, etc.


• Collect all receipts and complete expense reports & mileage logs for President and Founder


• Manage filing system in President and Founder’s office, and assist the Executive Assistant with filing duties as needed


• Assist the Executive Assistant with coordinating staff events; i.e. making reservations, ordering food, collecting RSVPs from the staff, etc.


• Assist the Executive Assistant with agenda and document preparation for meetings


• Complete transcription as needed


• Assist the Executive Assistant with adding President and Founder’s items to the Google Master Calendar and ensuring all items are up to date as needed


• Assist the Executive Assistant with event planning administration duties for the ManUp Pittsburgh Dad’s Conference as needed


• Be available to assist the Executive Assistant and President and Founder with any additional research and/or special projects as needed


Experience and Skills:


• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is required


• Previous administrative assistant experience is a plus


• Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to work well under pressure


• Must be a team player with a servant’s heart; also must possess the attributes of discretion, professionalism, and ability to communicate well with others


• Must be able to commit to a minimum of 15 hours/per week

Summer Internships

Urban Impact’s Summer Internships are ideal for college and post-college students who want to serve as leaders in the inner-city. Combined with theological education and hands-on ministry experience, interns will be equipped to begin to make a lasting, positive impact on the economic, educational, and social disparities too often pervading urban communities.

Currently there are two internships available:

 

      Technical Internship

Urban Impact is seeking to hire a paid summer intern as a technical assistant in our Performing Arts program. The position will require experience in theatrical lighting and sound. Video production experience is also a plus. The position requires full-time availability from May 28 - August 17. A stipend ranging from $2,500 - $3,000 will be provided. Theatre Internship
Urban Impact is seeking to hire a paid summer intern as a theatre assistant in our Performing Arts program. The position requirements are listed below. Full or part time availability needed from May 28 - August 16 with the possibility of employment in year-round program starting in the fall. Salary will be arranged based on full or part time employment and housing can be provided.

 

Position requirements:


• Professional theatre acting experience
• Directing experience
• Ability to disciple youth and work well with families
• Ability to work and communicate in a diverse community
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work as a team with other staff members
• A passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ


Beneficial experience:


• Technical experience
• Costume/make-up experience
• Creating and leading Bible studies
• Music and/or vocal experience
• Fundraising and development

Urban Missionaries

 

Urban Impact offers full-time staff positions to people who have firmly decided to work vocationally with at-risk youth in an urban context.

 

Serving on staff provides an opportunity for individuals to be trained
and mentored by established leaders as they invest in and mentor the youth in Urban Impact programs.  Responsibilities include running existing programs and events, implementing and planning new initiatives, and nurturing prospective leadership students. Urban Missionaries must have a willingness to raise their own financial support.

 

 

Academics Urban Missionary

 

 

We are currently seeking an Urban Missionary for our Education ministry. Urban Missionary’s are key people within the structure of Urban Impact Foundation. This position will be responsible to pray, strategize, develop, implement, manage, and evaluate Urban Impact’s Literacy Support program for targeted youth and engaging their families where possible, in the North Side neighborhoods. In addition, it will be responsible for serving in other Education programs that includes engaging youth with the gospel in order to facilitate the student becoming more involved with the discipleship plan of the organization. This position requires the ability to recruit, lead, supervise, and motivate volunteers for ministry. Relocation into the target urban community is required for this position. In addition, it is required that the Urban Missionary raise his/her own financial support.

 


Position requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Education background and Teacher certification strongly preferred
• A passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
• National and State clearances require
• Willingness to raise one's own financial support
• Ability to provide vision and leadership for Education program
• Ability to recruit, lead, supervise, motivate and train volunteers for ministry
• Ability to disciple youth and work well with families
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work as a team with other staff members
• Experience in teaching the Word of God

When it comes to church support of Urban Impact, it’s as simple as that! We’re looking for churches to stand behind us and support God’s vision for the organization on the North Side of Pittsburgh.

 

Give—Make Urban Impact a part of your church’s missionary budget and use us as a missions outlet for the congregation.

 

Go—Use Urban Impact as a sending entity where volunteers can participate in service projects, work with kids in various programs, or assist our administrative staff.

 

Pray—Display regular Urban Impact prayer requests in your bulletin or during your announcements so that our efforts are firmly backed by prayer.
